PROJECTS WITH EU SUPPORT CONNECT REGIONAL MUNICIPALITIES

Delegation of Bulgarian Botevgrad Municipality visited Palilula Municipality and with their host, president Dzunic, visited also the location in Pasi Poljana village where the planned sport terrains will be constructed. Thanks to project activities of Palilula Municipality, in the separate school building of Elementary School `Kralj Petar Prvi` in Pasi Poljana, until the end of March this year sport terrains and courts for volleyball, basketball, handball, tennis court, jogging track, cross jump, athletics track will be constructed. The value of this investment in Palilula will be realized with EU support and is about 218, 480, 74 E. Pupils, as well as large number of migrates, refugees and displaced people from Croatia and Kosovo and Metohia, already starting from spring this year, will have ideal conditions for sport recreation activity development.

On the general satisfaction of all of us in Palilula Municipality we finally started with implementation of the works in Pasi Poljana village. Today with us are also our partners on the project `MODERNSPORT` from Bulgarian Municipality of Botevgrad, said the president during the visit of the locality by the separated school building. They have completed the works on the project and we are expecting now that construction works on the surface of 4,400 square meters ought to be finished until March 28, emphasized Dzunic. Palilula Municipality in Nis has one clear vision that over the regional cooperation and good project ideas in the coming period we can attract important resources from EU Funds IPA and other donors who are not the part of our humble budget but are coming from other sources.

We are satisfied with so far cooperation with Palilula- emphasized Krasimir Andreev, vice-president of Botevgrad Municipality. We are here as partners to one Serbian municipality within the cross-border programme Bulgaria- Serbia. Now, we have seen the situation here in the village of Pasi Poljana and we are very happy that we are here. Within our part of the project we have completed the planned works. We have constructed four basketball courts and parking place, as well as rest rooms. The value of our part of the project is about 200, 000 E which means that total project values more than 400, 000 E.

Project `Modernsport` is our reference for further activity this time in the sphere of sport improvement and recreation of the young, said Dzunic. The value of this project is almost half of the resources we are getting over the transfer for six months from the City for the realization of basic functions of our Municipal work organization. Unfortunately, creativity opens the problem and that is actually how to provide resources for pre- financing of the planned activities of the project. Understanding of the authorities of the City and authorized organs is for that matter of great importance.
